South Witham Archaeological Group (SWAG)

South Witham Archaeological Group (SWAG) was set up at the beginning of 1998.  One of the main aims of the group is to make people aware of the Templars site, situated to the north of the village. To the more uninitiated of us this would involve explaining what the Templars site is, who the Knights Templars were, and the importance of this site to the village (and surrounding villages).

A longer term aim is to encompass all aspects of the village, to build on what we have within the Parish of South Witham and encourage all villagers to appreciate and look after what we have.

The group has been active producing several Local History books and CDs.[[{"type":"media","view_mode":"media_large","fid":"33","attributes":{"alt":"","class":"media-image","height":"480","style":"margin: 5px; width: 240px; height: 284px; line-height: 1.53em; float: left;","typeof":"foaf:Image","width":"405"}}]]
